The Community Heritage
Access Centre (CHAC) is hosting a Mystery Photo morning at Yeovil
Library on Tuesday 24 July from 10.00am until
12.00pm.
A selection of
photographs will be available for locations and little known
individuals to be identified. You might just hold the key to unlock
the mystery that will help staff and volunteers from CHAC put more
detail to photographs.
Councillor Nick Weeks,
Portfolio Holder for Heritage at South Somerset District Council
said, "Our staff and volunteers at CHAC have fantastic knowledge of
the local area, but we recognise that there's a lot of knowledge
which hasn't been tapped into. The aim of the Mystery Photograph
morning is to try and tease some of that knowledge out so we can
learn more about the local area and heritage of South
Somerset."
The event is free to
attend with some local history publications available. Please
contact Joseph Lewis, Heritage Co-Ordinator for more information by
emailing heritage.services@southsomerset.gov.uk
or by calling 01935 462886.
South Somerset District
Council Community Heritage Access Centre cares for around 6,000
photographs related to Yeovil and South Somerset. If you have a
photograph that may be of interest, please inform staff and
volunteers.

Can anyone shed any light on this photograph; suggestions for
a location so far include Dodham Brook and near Westland's Airfield
or Leisure Centre. It's believed this photo was taken in Yeovil as
the Photographer's Stamp on the back reads: "Tilzey, H.C. Yeovil
Photographer"
