Residents and visitors to Yeovil are set for lots of festive things to do this December, as the town boasts an impressive calendar of events for all to enjoy.

Forget the 12 days of Christmas; we bring you the 12 events of Yeovil:

1. Late night shopping

Enjoy Yeovil's fantastic range of shops every Thursday evening leading up until Christmas as late night shopping comes to town. From High Street retailers to small independent shops, there's something for everyone. Yeovil boasts 16 of the UK's Top 30 favourite retailers (according to the 2017 Retailer Proposition Index) and 55 of the UK Top 100 retail stores (Based on the OC&C consultant retail proposition index) are based in the Yeovil area. There's no rush to get back to the car before your ticket runs out as parking is free after 6pm.

2. Ye Olde Yeovil Christmas Market

If you are looking for local produce to enjoy this festive period, there's no better place than Ye Olde Yeovil Christmas Market. Taking place on Saturday 15 December, the festive market will host live music and the opportunity for your little ones to meet some live reindeer. Father Christmas will be in his Grotto in the Quedam Shopping Centre too.

3. Eat a cheeky Nandos

Popular chicken restaurant Nandos opens up on Old Station Road in the town centre this month, adding to Yeovil's large range of restaurant offering which includes something for everyone from Italian, Specialist Burgers and Steak Houses to Sushi, Turkish, Indian, Caribbean and more much. The introduction of Nandos furthers the confidence of businesses to invest in the town centre.

4. Take a magical carpet ride with Aladdin at The Octagon Theatre

Don't miss our hilarious, fun-packed family pantomime, Aladdin, starring Lizzie Frances, Thom Ford and a fantastic supporting cast. Once again, the show will be written by Paul Hendy, and produced by the same team behind last year's Box Office smash hit, Cinderella. Aladdin promises to be spectacular, top-quality entertainment with the emphasis on strong casting, high production values and a genuinely funny script. 5. Christmas Elves Hunt at Yeovil Recreation Centre

Every weekend leading up until Christmas, come and try out the Christmas Elves Hunt between 10am and 4pm. Santa has lost his elves! Help find the elves and collect your Christmas sweet treat from the Galley as a reward. Only £1 per child.

6. Back To The 80s Big Christmas Party - Part II

Due to overwhelming public demand, Westlands Entertainment Venue has added a second Back To The 80's Big Christmas Party on Saturday 22 December to their festive offering this Christmas. With the very best 80s hits and a live performance from local band Snakebyte, this is a Christmas Party you really won't want to miss!

7. Visit the award winning Christmas display at Brimsmore Garden Centre

For those that live in or around Yeovil, a festive trip to Brimsmore Garden Centre is a must in the month of December. The award winning Christmas display really is a sight to be seen by all, with preparation for the display starting in January each year. Visit for opening times.

8. Christmas children's craft morning

On Saturday 22 December, visit St John's Church in Yeovil town centre for a children's craft morning with crafts, refreshments and puppets. Come and make some Christmas decorations, eat cake and hear what St John's resident puppets have to say about Christmas.

9. Cheer on 'The Glovers'

There are a couple of opportunities to watch Yeovil Town Football Club at home in December, starting this weekend when they host Forest Green Rovers. Then on Saturday 22 December, Yeovil host Northampton Town at Huish Park. Cheer on 'The Glovers' and show your support for Somerset's highest ranking football team.

10. Christmas swim and movies with LED

On Sunday 16December, Goldenstones Leisure Centre is holding a Christmas themed swim followed by a festive film (Arthur Christmas). Checklist: swimwear, onesie & pillow (optional), film themed fancy dress and all the family. Fun for the whole family for £11.50 (adult: £4.50, Child £2.80). Visit for more information.

11. Take stroll through Yeovil's award winning Country Park

If you're looking for the perfect place to take a walk and burn off some festive food, look no further than Yeovil Country Park. Nestled next to the town centre, Yeovil Country Park boasts a wide range of walks across the site. A new series of trail leaflets have been produced to help you get more out of our visit. Once you have finished, why not visit the Ninesprings Café and try one of their festive flavoured drinks.

12. Be adventurous - take a climb

If adventure is your style, Yeovil boasts an indoor climbing centre with different climbing experiences. Ready2climb has a fun climbing area which provides families with the thrills and excitement of climbing using safety equipment to aide climbers. Novice climbers can enjoy the conventional climbing area with a wide selection of routes on three separate walls.
