The new operator, MSD Markets Ltd, are looking to re-invigorate
the markets in Yeovil by bringing new ideas and different ways of
working to the support the traders, the town and its
communities.
South Somerset District Council had been managing the markets in
Yeovil for a number of years and despite officers best efforts to
try and enhance the markets, it was decided it was time for a
change of plan and management.
MSD Markets Ltd will look to establish a programme of specialist
markets and events to provide a new offer in the town centre. It's
hoped that Yeovil will have a festive Christmas market in place for
this year to run alongside some of the other events in the town
such as the Christmas light switch on event.

a successful market but also seeing a transformation of Yeovil's

Councillor Peter Gubbins, Chairman of Area South Committee at
South Somerset District Council added, "It was felt the time was
right to look at changing the way that markets in Yeovil are
managed. We have been through a thorough process to attract a new
operator to manage the markets and I am really pleased that we have
appointed MSD Markets Ltd. We look forward to working closely with
them for the benefit of the town and community."
MSD Markets Ltd commenced operational management of the markets
in Yeovil on Friday 13 April and will be on the ground to supervise
the day to day running of the markets.
