Examples of a change in circumstance.
- If you start to claim Universal Credit
- Anyone in your home stops or starts work
- Any of your children leave school or you stop receiving CB for
them
- You move
- Anyone moves in or out of your home or you have a new baby
- Anyone in your home has a change in income or capital
- Any changes in your rent.
Change of address.
If you are already receiving Housing Benefit
and/or Council Tax Support in the South Somerset District Council
area a Change of address form must be completed this can be done
online. Proof of any changes must be supplied.

If you are receiving Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Support
in another area and you are moving to South
Somerset District Council area a new application form must be
completed. You can make this
claim online. If you need assistance completing the

If you complete the form before you move we need written
confirmation of when you move in.
Change in your rent.
Changes in your rent need to be reported to us and evidence of
the change should show the date of change, the new amount of rent,
the frequency of payment, your name and address, what is included
in the rent and the landlords name and address. Evidence could
be:
- A letter from the landlord.
- A rent certificate.
- A tenancy agreement, signed by the customer and the
landlord.
Yarlington Housing Group - if you are a tenant of Yarlington
Housing Group (previously called South Somerset Homes) you don't
need to inform us of rent changes as they will send these details
directly to us. All other tenants must report the change.

You will need to provide evidence of the change as well but
completing the online form now will mean that official notification
of the change has been received.
End of Entitlement to: Income Support, Universal Credit,
Jobseekers Allowance (Income Based), Pension Credit or Employment
Support Allowance (Income Based).
If you or your partner's Income Support, Universal Credit,
Jobseekers Allowance (Income Based), Pension Credit or Employment
Support Allowance (Income Based) has ended you will need to tell us
about this change immediately.

Change in the income of people living in the
property.
Customers who are of working age and pensioners who are not
receiving Pension Credit should report any changes in their income,
and provide evidence of the change. The evidence must be an
original document and show the date of change and new amount of
income. Evidence could be:
- If you claim Universal Credit your housing costs will be paid
as part of this and your Housing Benefit claim will be ended.
- Payslips, the last one showing the old amount and the first one
showing the new amount.
- Letter from an employer detailing the date of change and the
new amount.
- Award letter from other agencies detailing a new award or a
change to a private pension, working tax credit, child tax credit,
state retirement pension, incapacity benefit etc.
Customers who receive Pension Credit should report any change to
the Pension
Service.

Customers who are of working age and pensioners who are not
receiving Pension Credit should report any changes in their
capital, and provide evidence of the change.

The customer should report the date a partner joins or leaves
the household.

An adult (not partner) has joined, returned or left the
household
The customer should report the date any adult joins the
household, together with the full name, date of birth, previous
address, income and capital details of that person.
