Safer Food, Better Business is a food safety management system
developed with and for small food businesses by the Food Standards Agency. Where
relevant the majority of food businesses in South Somerset use
it. Businesses have found the system an easy but highly
relevant way of keeping on top of food safety, without excessive
paperwork. Our inspectors have also found that businesses
using this approach achieve higher standards of hygiene.
The system is available to download and print free of charge
below or from the Food Standards Agency. It consists of
lots of information on safe methods to use, plus a daily diary for
